Should I stain or paint a timber fence?

Stain lets the timber grain show, breathes with the timber, and is easier to refresh — ideal for hardwoods and feature fences. Paint gives a solid colour and can be tinted to match your house, but needs more prep on the recoat. We match the system to the timber and your look.

Can you repaint a Colorbond fence?

Yes. Colorbond fences can absolutely be repainted — we clean, key the surface with a light sand, spot-prime any rusted sections, and apply a two-coat metal paint system. You can also change the colour completely.

How long does fence painting last in Brisbane?

A properly prepped and stained hardwood fence typically holds up 4–6 years before a maintenance recoat. Painted timber and Colorbond fences usually last 7–10 years. UV exposure and how much sun the fence gets are the biggest factors.

Do you paint both sides?

We can — but many Brisbane clients paint their side only and coordinate with the neighbour on the other side. Quotes are per side unless you specify both.

What about damaged palings or rot?

We can replace individual palings, cap-rails and posts before painting. Full fence rebuilds we leave to fencers, but small repairs are part of a normal fence job.
